Save Them One by One makes July 2021 trip to Nicaragua
Dear Supporters of Save them One by One:
As always I want to start off by thanking you for the support you have shown the ministry and as always I pray daily that you will continue supporting so that I can continue sending your love to the people in Nicaragua. I am filled with joy as I am writing you this to update you on my recent trip to Nicaragua. It had been 16 long months since my last trip to my favorite little corner of the world because of Covid restrictions but thankfully I was able to go down July 15-25.
What a blessing it was to be able to see my Nicaraguan family and friends that I had missed so much. This trip was different from most other trips as I crammed two weeks worth of work into the 10 days. Overall the trip was flawless. During this trip we were able to deliver to all thirteen of our villages since I was unable to go in March as usual. We distributed uniforms, backpacks and basic school supplies to approximately 1800 children. It was an extremely busy time but oh so worthwhile. We distributed dresses that a supporter had handmade and the little girls loved them, the boys received baseballs.
For anyone that has heard my testimony and how Save them One by One Nicaragua Ministry started, it all began with a little girl named Wendy Carolina. Wendy was my little girl, she was the first child I helped in Nicaragua as I was sponsoring her thru another ministry. On my first trip to Nicaragua, I told the pastor I wanted to meet her! He made that possible one afternoon going to pick her up and bringing her to where I was staying. I stayed connected with Wendy each time I went to Nicaragua for several years. While visiting her once in 2008, I asked her Mom what could I do to help her and her family…she asked me for uniforms so her girls could attend school…it was then I learnt the importance of school uniforms and education in Nicaragua. It was then that Save them One by One began…starting with Wendy and her two sisters…then to 120 children…and now today approximately 1800 children…it all began because of this one girl! As I like to say sometimes it only takes one person to change the world and for so many that is what happened with Wendy. I lost connection with Wendy for many years but I am very thankful I was able to reconnect with Wendy on this trip and to see her was a huge blessing. Today she is an amazing young lady that is in her last year of college and studying to be a teacher.
On this trip we were able to donate $500 to help replace a roof on a church that we have been helping in for years. This church was very thankful for this monetary donation and this is only possible because of the amazing support I receive so often from people like you.
Also, on this trip we were able to start the process of building a church in Somotillo, the town in which our mission house is and a central location to most of our villages we work in. We were contacted back last fall about a growing congregation that was meeting under a “shed” for church and they were hoping to build an actual church building. I am very familiar with the area and many of the people in the “church” as my Nicaraguan family worships there. Thankfully we have been given a couple of large donations in order to get the building process going, however, with the increase in cost of materials we are still quite a bit short and so I ask that you pray about how you can help with this process. How wonderful would it be to donate $20, $50, $100 or more to help build his kingdom for a lifetime. Please consider helping with this amazing project!
As always we have many other ways to help, I am hoping to open up a couple of new villages for the school sponsorship program soon, so as always I am in need of more sponsors. I have a pastor that is in need of a motorcycle and we need to raise approximately $900 to help with that. I would also love to do the Christmas meal again this year in a village or two in which we provide a meal and staple foods for the people. This is a huge blessing to those living in the rural areas. I know I am constantly begging for help and support and I am sorry, but that is how the ministry continues to grow. If you are able please consider helping with one of these special projects.
I am so thankful for all of the people that are first time supporters of Save them One by One and for all those that have supported for years and years. God has certainly blessed the ministry. Please be in prayer about Save them One by One that it will continue growing and most importantly please be in prayer for the people of Nicaragua.
